Benefit for Josh at Maple Lake VFW

The second of two benefits to aid in the search for missing St. John’s College student Joshua Guimond will take place on Sunday, January 19.

The “Find Josh Benefit” at the Maple Lake VFW will include a pork chop dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dinner tickets are available for $8 at Security State Bank through Saturday morning, with additional pork chops for $1.25.

Entertainment at the event will feature live music provided by “Second Hand Halo,” which has performed at the “Fine-Line” in Minneapolis, and “Echo Union.” Karaoke entertainment will be provided by D.J. John Gjertsen and “Two of a Kind,” featuring Mary Jo Miceli and Joyce Sprague.

More items for the silent auction are coming in each day, and include an overnight stay at the Sheraton at Ridgedale, a “surprise” fishing box from Pure Fishing, savings bonds, homemade wine from Tim Kittock, U.S. mint coins, a used computer and new printer, an estate legal planning package for $350, lift ticket ski rental, quilts, an ice fishing sled, an ice auger, a gas grill, furniture, sports cards, autographed pro sports team items and a football signed by St. John’s coach John Gagliardi. However, credit cards cannot be accepted for auction purchases.

In addition, the VFW will conduct meat raffles, with proceeds going to the “Find Joshua Fund.”
