Benefits for Joshua to help raise search funds

Two benefits to aid in the search for missing St. John’s College student Joshua Guimond will take place on back-to-back Sundays this month.

On January 12, Madigan’s Pub and Grill will host a spaghetti dinner with all proceeds going to the Find Joshua Fund. Spaghetti, garlic toast and coffee or pop will be served for $7 from 4 to 8 p.m. In addition, the Maple Lake Lions will be hosting a meat raffle for the Find Joshua Fund.

On January 19, the Find Josh Benefit at the Maple Lake VFW will include a pork chop dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Dinner tickets are available for $8 at Security State Bank and Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Sunday, with additional pork chops for $1.25.  Entertainment at the event will feature live music and Karaoke.

But the big news is the wealth of items for the silent auction. “People have been just tremendous,” said coordinator Mary Jo Miceli.   Auction highlights that will bring in bidders from miles around include a framed and signed photo of Muhammad Ali with the Beatles, a framed and signed photo of Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio, a Minnesota Vikings 2002 team autographed football and a Minnesota Wild team hockey stick with multiple autographs.

Anyone with questions about this event can call Mary Jo Miceli at 963-5477 or Judy Jude at 963-5589.
