A piece of Maple Lake’s culinary history fell to the ground Monday and Tuesday. The former Maple Lake Café had been sitting vacant since closing in 2012.
Annandale State Bank, which owns the property, decided to demolish the building in hopes of selling the lot.
“We decided to demolish the building that was the site of the former Maple Lake Café due to the condition of the building,” Annandale State Bank President Keith Jerpseth said. “The condition of the building was quite deceiving. From the outside, it appeared to be a solid, block building; however, there were major problems with the roof and other structural issues.”
