Cody LaFave, Maple Lake

Services for Cody Richard LaFave, 19, of Maple Lake, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Howard Lake. Cody Richard LaFave was born July 22, 1993, at Buffalo, Minnesota, to Dale LaFave and Linda (Muonio) LaFave. He grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was confirmed at Atonement Lutheran Church of St. Cloud and graduated from Apollo High School in 2011. Cody went on to live in Maple Lake and work for his mentor and friend, Tom Segner, at Kapseg Farms. Cody was very artistic as a youth and he enjoyed drawing very intricate pictures. As he grew, he became interested in skateboarding, bicycling, snowboarding, football, basketball, wrestling, swimming, snowmobiling, boxing, shooting pool, darts and hunting. Most recently, he built his own pulling truck, went to tractor pulls, loved farming, welding, mechanics and John Deere. Most of all, Cody loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved babies and children. He was a member of the National Tractor Pullers Association and Atonement Lutheran Church of St. Cloud. Cody passed away in a snowmobile accident on March 22, 2013, at the Whispering Pines Golf Course of Annandale. He had reached the age of 19 years, and 8 months. Survivors include: parents, Dale LaFave and Linda (Muonio) LaFave; grandparents: Jerry and Judy LaFave, Dennis and Elsie Muonio; great-grandparent: Bud Marquette. He’s also survived by many, many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He leaves behind his special friends, Mojo and Diesel (his dogs). Cody was preceded in death by: Great-grandparents: Florence and Edwin Muonio, Melvin and Linda Niska, Marie and Leo LaFave and Doris Marquette. Also preceded by uncles: Gunner LaFave and Daniel Muonio. We remember also cousins, great aunts and uncles and friends that have gone before.
