Donald C. Jude, age 92, of Andover, formerly of Maple Lake, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Unity Hospital in Fridley.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2011, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. The pallbearers were his grandsons, the honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters, and the music for the service was provided by Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz. Interment was at St. Timothy’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m., Friday, and 8:30-9:15 a.m., Saturday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There was a prayer service at 5 p.m., Friday.
Donald Charles Jude was born July 15, 1919, in Maple Lake to Joseph and Mary C. (Brun) Jude. He married Margaret Kotilinek on August 17, 1940, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on November 7, 1997. He was a farmer and then promoted more development in Maple Lake with housing and commercial lots on his land. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, and St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka.
He is survived by his companion, Genevieve of Andover; children, Douglas Jude of Sylacauga, AL, Robert (Helen) Jude of Maple Lake, Marilyn (Steve) Fobbe of Maple Lake; daughter-in-law, Myrna Jude of Annandale; 12 grandchildren, Neal, Bobby, Bill, Mark, David and Brent Jude, Matt and Nick Fobbe, Becky Pribyl, Denise Yuker, Dana Dagen, and Kate Rassat, and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Kenneth; brothers, Fred, Clarence, Francis, and Marvin, and sisters, Catherine Munstenteiger and Magdeline Bihl.
