Donna Mae Luoma, South Haven

Donna Mae Luoma, 67, passed away peacefully in her South Haven home Sunday afternoon surrounded by family, friends and dogs. She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Donna was born on Oct. 21, 1945 to Melvin and Ruth Sigerson. Following her father’s death two months after Donna’s birth, her mother remarried and the family settled in Hopkins where she attended public school. She married Fred Luoma in 1962 and eventually moved to a small farm in South Haven where Donna was free to indulge her passion for gardening, horses, cats and stray dogs. She worked for the past 14 years at Product Technologies in Maple Lake. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Sigerson. She is survived by her husband, Fred; daughters, Jody (Paul) Goenner, of Clear Lake, and Jamie (Brian) Fisher, of Monticello; grandchildren, Ben Fisher and Austin Goenner; and brothers, Charles Wise, of Sauk City, Wis., and Tom Wise (Mollie), of Stillwater; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family of many friends. The family will hold a celebration of Donna’s life at her South Haven home on Saturday, Aug. 10, beginning at 2 p.m. with a remembrance of Donna at 3:00.
