They judge a girl’s performance based on numbers instead of her reaction. One glance at Bonnie Jude’s face on Thursday, January 6, against Rockford and they would have learned all they needed to know about the true meaning of winning.
“After my floor routine I just couldn’t stop smiling,” said Jude still grinning at the memory, “I felt like I’d rocked it.” She wasn’t the only one rocking it that day, as seen by the varsity’s team score of 120.05. Rockford, on the other hand, ended up on rocky ground when they lost by over 30 points with a total of 99.8.
On vault, Maple Lake took the top four places. Jude came in first with a score of 8.4. In second, was Jordan Sifferle, with 8.25. Scoring a 7.9 was Courtney Pribyl who took third place. Heather Schlueter took fourth, scoring 7.85. After her was Marisa Hendrikson in sixth with 7.6.
On bars, the Irish also excelled. Schlueter won first with her 7.9 event score. She was followed by Pribyl in second and a score of 7.15. Next, was J. Sifferle who scored 6.95, earning her third place. In fourth was Jude with 6.6. Making 5.3 and seventh place was Delaney. Sifferle.
