Ida ‘Maggie’ Alama, Cyrus

Ida (Maggie) Esther Alama, 75, passed away on January 3, 2013, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. Maggie was born on March 2, 1937, in Chatham Township, Wright County, to Ralph and Ida (Hoffman) Marquette. Maggie grew up in the Maple Lake area where she attended country school. Maggie married Vernon Holland in 1954, later divorced. She married Richard Alama in 1965. She loved gardening and playing cards. She also loved singing and playing guitar. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed baking and sharing her goodies with friends and family. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; sister, Pauline (Tootie) Stumpf; and four brothers: Gene, Clyde, Benjamin, and John Marquette. Maggie is survived by sons and daughters: Linda Tolifson, of Cyrus; Alan (Sue) Holland, of Starbuck; Allison Alama, of Cyrus; and Clint (Georgianna) Alama, of Blackstock, South Carolina; step-sons: Ricky (Heidi) Alama, of Litchfield; Randy, of Naples, Fla.; and Perry (Michelle), of Kodak, Tenn.; brothers: Floyd Marquette and friend, Celia, of Maple Lake; Douglas (Elaine) Marquette, of Buffalo; Myles (Irene) Marquette, of Fair Haven; Irvin (Carol) Marquette, of Clear Lake; Dennis (Jan) Marquette, of South Haven; Butch Marquette and friend, Shirley, of Donnelly; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
