For game four of the Irish volleyball season, the team traveled to Dassel-Cokato on Sept. 10th to face the Chargers.
Game one started with an early run from the Chargers. They had a strong offense with tough hitters. The Irish defense couldn’t handle the hard hits from Dassel-Cokato, resulting in a 25-12 loss.
The Irish started strong and didn’t allow the Chargers to have an early run in game two. The aggressive Dassel-Cokato hitters did, however, continue to trouble the Irish. When Maple Lake was able to pass up the ball, they made great plays that kept them in the game. Poor blocking by the Irish, made it difficult for defense to pass up the ball and create plays, which led to a 25-13 loss.
“Even though Dassel Cokato was a tough team, we kept adjusting and improving as the night went on and learned a lot about how our team never gives up,” junior Jenni Pomije said.
