Lucille Smith, Maple Lake

Lucille B. Smith, age 82, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial followed at St. Timothy’s Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Lucille Bernadette Smith was born May 19, 1930, in Maple Lake, to Jule and Bernadette (Martin) Provo. She was united in marriage to Donald Carl Smith on Oct. 30, 1947, in Maple Lake, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2005, in Robbinsdale. Lucille was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, where she has served on the CCW, sang in the choir for 21 years, was a Eucharistic Minister to homebound church members for nine years and volunteered as a “Grandma” at the Parish school. She enjoyed her church, singing in the church choir, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and traveling. She is survived by her nine children: Linda, of Ramsey; Julie (Dennis) Boettcher, of Big Lake; Gary (Chris), of Grantsburg; Wis.; Steven (Julie), of Maple Lake; Cynthia (Larry) Woolhouse, of Becker; James (Sandra), of Elk River; Greg (Pamela), of Becker; Kevin (George), of Fairfield, Conn.; and Debra (Mark) Wurm, of Maple Lake; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Remund, of Coon Rapids; and sister-in law,-Freda Provo, of Annandale. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jule and Bernadette; husband, Donald; and brothers, Joseph and Arsene Provo. The pallbearers were Ryan, Kyle, Jared and Loren Smith, Justin Eggert and Hunter Wurm. Michael McDeid, Michelle Marie Raddatz, Randy Grist and Bacco Lui provided the music for the service. Arrangements were entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
