Mock Crash set for May 6 at high school

Maple Lake High School Irish Mentors are teaming up with the Maple Lake Fire Department and other area businesses to put on a mock car crash Friday, May 6, at 9 a.m. High school students will watch as their peers reenact an alcohol and texting related accident. Volunteers from the fire department, along with deputies, and medical teams, will arrive on scene to “treat” the victims, allowing students to see what happens on an accident scene. The crash will also create awareness of poor choices and their consequences when students are invited into the auditorium after the crash to watch a video of a jail booking being acted out by a classmate.
