Patrick M. Garvey, Maple Lake

Patrick M. Garvey passed away in Maple Lake March 2, 2011, at the age of 65. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Buffalo United Methodist Church, 609 8th Street N.W., in Buffalo. Interment followed in St. Timothy’s East Cemetery, Maple Lake. Visitation was held from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Peterson Chapel, 119 Central Avenue, Buffalo.
Pat was born in Minneapolis on October 12, 1945, the second son of Norman and Luella (Vanderwater) Garvey. He spent his teenage years in California and was in the army before coming back to Minnesota, where he started the Wright Way Shopper. He was owner and publisher for 25 years. The Wright Way Shopper went from an eight-page flyer to the largest, free-distribution shopper in the state when he sold it in 2005. Pat lived on Maple Lake for 28 years where he boated, fished and watched his family grow. He was also an avid golfer and played several times a week with family and friends and had golfed at almost every course around.
Pat is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rochelle (Shelly) Garvey; daughters, Jennifer (Greg) Easterlund, Avon, Kathleen Sandstrom, Monticello, and son, Timothy Garvey, of Tampa FL; grandchildren, Lucas, Emily, Paige, Allison and Geoffrey; one sister, Norma “Peaches” Warman; nieces and nephew, Jill (Terry) Andrus, Connie (John) Hughes and Mike Warman, all in California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Luella Garvey; his brother, John, and sister, Kathleen.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo served the family.
