Powder Puff football, He-Man volleyball kick off homecoming

Homecoming 2013 will take place the week of Sept. 23 to 29.  As tradition goes, parents of the juniors and seniors start the week off with a friendly game of Powder Puff football and He-Man volleyball. This is a parent-sponsored event. The school is not responsible for any accidents or mishaps. Students are asked to sign up in the office to participate in these events.
This year, the events will take place on Sunday.  The Homecoming celebration starts off with a game of Powder Puff football where the senior girls take on the junior girls. This will be at 4 p.m. in Irish Stadium.
Immediately following the football game, all Powder Puff and He-Man participants, volunteers and their immediate families are invited to a potluck dinner in the high school cafeteria around 5:30 p.m.  Each family is asked to bring a hot dish, salad, or desert to share. These items can be dropped off before the Powder Puff game. Beverages, utensils, plates and napkins will be provided.
At 6:30 p.m., the senior and junior boys will be hitting the gym floor for a competitive but friendly and fun game of He-Man volleyball.
It is very important that all students participating in this year’s event drop off the signed permission slip in the office.  The permission slips must be signed by a parent or guardian before the student is allowed to participate in the event. Please have the slips returned to the office prior to practice. Practice for Powder Puff is to be determined.  Coaches will let the girls know the time and place and it will be posted. There will be adult supervision at the practices.
Both events are a “must see” for all ages, so call the grandparents and relatives, bring your neighbors and friends to see our students kick off Homecoming 2013. There is a small admission charge for both events, and admission is $1 cheaper with a food shelf donation. The money collected pays for the potluck supplies and any other miscellaneous expenses.  Any remaining money will go to the Irish PATHS to use as they see fit.
Parents are asked to help in the following areas:
Cleaning up the football stadium
Set up/clean up the cafeteria
Cleaning up the gymnasium
Football referees
