Second-chance points hurt Irish in loss

Both teams entered Thursday night’s game with a 2-2 conference record, each looking for a win to chase down conference leaders EV-W and HLWW. The shots weren’t falling in the first half for the Irish, but they found a spark on the defensive end which ignited a flame on the offensive end. Unfortunately the Irish couldn’t make up their deficit, and lost 60-47. Pierz came out with a flurry and jumped to an early 10-point lead as the Irish struggled to put the ball through the net. Pierz maintained a double-digit lead for most of the first half, and led by 14 points at halftime, leaving the score 30-16. The Irish lacked some intensity which was well needed to get their game rolling. Anyone in the stands could agree that there was a new team on the court the second half.
