Shamrock Golden Word of the Week

Maple Lake Elementary’s “Shamrock Golden Word of the Week,” program focuses on ‘Golden Words’ or words like exquisite, generous, gloomy, etc. which boost students’ expressive vocabulary. There is one golden word of the week each week for the rest of the school year. Each classroom will be coming up with unique sentences using the golden word of the week and posting them by the pot of gold display in the school hallway. Below are the best sentences from each grade level:  
Shamrock Golden Word of the Week: Adorn 
Kindergarten: “Adorn your puppy with ribbons,” from Carol Tongen’s class
1st grade: “The Christmas tree was adorned with lights and ornaments,” from Kelly Siebert’s class
2nd grade: “I’m going to adorn the whole classroom,” from Stacy Schneider’s class
3rd grade: “She adorned a dress,” from Linda Weber’s class
4th grade: “We will adorn the tree,” from Tim Staloch’s class.
