Beverly J. Van Lith, Maple Lake

 

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Maple Lake for Beverly J. Van Lith, age 79 of Maple Lake, who died on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at her home in Maple Lake. Pastor Michael Fritz was officiated. Inurnment was at St. Timothy’s Catholic Cemetery in Maple Lake, MN at a later date. Visitation was two hours prior to the services at the church. Arrangements were with Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater, MN.
Beverly was born on January 8, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Wilbur and Belva (Rand) Winkelman. As a young girl she moved to Maple Lake with her family, where she attended school and graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Clifford Van Lith on July 8, 1955.  Eight children were born to this union.  After raising her children, she worked as a cook at Ebenezer Nursing Home in Buffalo and the Buffalo Hospital until her retirement in 2004. She continued to live in Maple Lake since that time.
She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, the VFW Post 8731 Ladies Auxiliary of Monticello, she also volunteered time at the Monticello Big Lake Nursing Home and Faith in Action.  Her hobbies included gardening, fishing off the dock, playing cards, spending time with her family and watching her Minnesota Twins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, one daughter, Belinda Van Lith and one son, Alan Van Lith.
She is survived by six children; Pam Van Lith (Mark Boden) of Maple Lake, MN, Stephanie (Craig) Ellingson of Buffalo, MN, Cindy (Leon) Ohman of Elk River, MN, Scott Van Lith (Colleen Skillings) of Monticello, MN, Wendy Van Lith (Tom Kolyer) Otsego, MN, and Dean Van Lith (Janet Lewis) of Minneapolis, MN 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters; Barbara Papke of Monticello, MN, Richard Winkelman of New Hope, MN Douglas Winkelman of Cokato, MN Jim Winkelman of Rockford, MN and Tom Winkelman of Plymouth, MN her loving pets; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
