CORINNA TOWNSHIP
NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING
AND ELECTION
The Corinna Township Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, 8:15 p.m., at the Corinna Township Hall, 9801 Ireland Avenue NW, Annandale, MN. The purpose of this meeting is for the citizens of Corinna Township to set the annual levy to be certified against the property taxes for the 2016 payable year.
The Election of Township Officers will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. The polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Township Officer to be elected is one (1) Supervisor for a period of three years. The Board of Canvass will meet immediately after the polls close to certify the official election results.
In case of inclement weather, the Election and Town Meeting will be the following Tuesday, March 17, 2015. In case of inclement weather, the Regular Town Board Meeting will be Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.
For Absentee Ballots call Wright County at 1-800-362-3667 and ask for Auditor/Treasurer’s Office – Elections, to apply for absentee ballots. The Wright County Courthouse will be open for acceptance of absentee ballot applications and casting of absentee ballots on Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 9, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Requests for mailed absentee ballots will also be accepted.
A public accuracy test of voting equipment will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.

Notice of Annual Meeting and
Election of Officers
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of Albion Township, County of Wright, State of Minnesota, that the Annual Election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Albion Town Hall at 9020 20th St NW, Annandale, MN 55302. In case of inclement weather, the Annual Election and Annual Meeting will be postponed until Tuesday, March 17, 2015, during the same hours.
The Election Poll hours will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at which time the voters will elect one Supervisor for a 3-year term and one Treasurer for a 2-year term.
The ANNUAL MEETING will commence after the polls close at 8:00 p.m. to conduct all necessary business prescribed by law.

7. Open Forum – Mayor Lynn Kissock reported that Maple Lake is working with MnDOT on a Hwy. 55 beautification project. MnDOT will supply about $3,000 worth of plants and materials per year through project completion. They will start with the area around Star Bank, Maple Lake Schools and St. Timothy’s School. Kissock asked for volunteers to help with planning process, planting and maintenance. Hansen will meet with Kissock and MNDOT.
8. Unfinished Business
A. The January 31, 2015 Enrollment was 880.4 students.
B. M/S McAlpine/Liljequist – Motion to approve updates to the following policies: 205, 206, 208, 419, 421, 423, 502, 503, 506, 525, 532, 615, 701.1, 807 and 905. Motion carries 5-0.
C. Review of the 2015-2016 school calendar. Draft II is the preferred calendar for next year, but Redemske reported that approval will wait until the March board meeting, pending outcomes of bills that could allow schools to start before Labor Day.
D. It was reported that two evaluations have been completed on all probationary teachers.
9. New Business
A. M/S Liljequist/Mavencamp – Motion to approve coaching assignments for the 2015 spring season. Motion carries 5-0.
B. First reading of the following policies: 406, 410, 413, 425, 509, 524, 526, 805 and 806 .
10. Representative Reports
A. District Leadership Team-Colleen Carlson reported that staff will participate in Technology Tuesday where they can attend two ½ hr. break-out sessions on using Edmodo, Schoology CPS, or Google Chrome Apps and Google Classroom. These sessions will also help satisfy relicensure requirements.
B. Food Service Committee – A survey is currently taking place. The committee will meet and report on when results are available.
C. The Technology Committee met on January 26. Redemske said they discussed E-Rate, our Tech plan and replacement of a server this summer. Benoit sent a survey to staff to gain input on future technology and finances.
D. Michalicek reported that the Wright Technical Center is moving along with enrollment for next year. Savings from refinancing loans will be used for roof repairs.
E. Harlan reported MLE had 160 participants for their 9th year of having Battle of the Books and gave kudos to Kath Heffron for working to make it such a special event. Planning has already begun for next year. 96% of the MLE parents attended the winter parent-teacher conferences. Results from Parent Survey will be tabulated and reported at the next meeting. February is “I Love to Read” month and the theme is “Experiment with Reading” and being “unplugged” from technology. The prize of a one-night stay at the County Inn in Buffalo will go to one unplugged family. The finale will be a visit from author and illustrator Gary Harbo. Harlan said the amount of car pick-ups has increased and they are working on a solution to keep the parking lot traffic moving safer and better. MLE hosted the first “Ready or Not” for Kindergarten forum. Harlan said that there seems to be a trend of kindergarten age students not demonstrating readiness skills and they are working with area schools to collaborate on strategies.
F. Hansen said that high school registration is on through February 12, with 9th graders registering through February 19. This week is Snowcoming. High school will have an Activity Hour on Friday with a Battle of the Grades. The dance will follow Friday’s game. Hansen and Harlan will attend a training for testing and Hansen will also attend testing training at MDE. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on February 16 from 4-7 p.m.
11. Committee Reports
A. Finance and Programs Committee – Redemske reported on the 2015-16 general fund shortfall of $686,318. The school has a policy to maintain a minimum unassigned general fund balance equal to 1.5 months of operating expenses. Some budget issues are enrollment flux, state funding not keeping up with inflation, erosion of the basic formula allowance. Basic formula allowance for Maple Lake is $5,831 per pupil unit and with all category allowances, it comes to $7,447, which is $947 below the state average. The Finance and Programs committee has directed to get the projected overspending of the unassigned fund from ($569,890) to ($400,000). The board discussed putting a November operating levy vote to our voters.
