Christena L. Rozenberg, Howard Lake

Christena Lubertha Rozenberg age 100, of Howard Lake, passed away on March 7, 2015, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Care Center. She was born in Maple Lake Township on August 27, 1914, daughter of Henry and Jennie (Mol) Dykhuizen. Christena was baptized on June 6, 1915 by Reverend Bernard Lammers. She was instructed in the Reformed Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith by Reverend Harry Van Egmond on December 9, 1930. Christena was joined in holy marriage to Albert Rozenberg on September 9, 1936 in a double wedding with her twin sister, Henrietta, and Reynold Klemz. This ceremony was performed by Reverend Harry Van Egmond and took place at Silver Creek Reformed Church. God blessed their marriage with a daughter, Carolyn Joanne. Christena was a farmer and homemaker who loved growing flowers, gardening, embroidery, and fishing. She was active in church activities at both Silver Creek and the First Presbyterian Church in Howard Lake.
Christena was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters, Simon, Albert, Henry, Gerrit, Johanna and Henrietta. 
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (James) Wackler of Howard Lake; grandchildren, Mark (Ann) Wackler of Buffalo,  Paul Wackler of Howard Lake, Mary Marschel of Howard Lake and Ruth (Mike) Young of Waverly; great-grandchildren, Tom Young of Mesa, AZ, Christena (Ben) Dickens of Mesa, AZ, Jacob (Brittany) Young of Ansbach, Germany, Dan Wackler of Buffalo, MN, Jill Wackler of Buffalo, MN, and Hannah Marschel of Howard Lake, MN; great-great-grandsons, Bradley Dickens and James Young; very special friend, Mary LeVang; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials preferred to the First Presbyterian Church in Howard Lake.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, at the First Presbyterian Church in Howard Lake, with visitation beginning 1 hour prior to services. Arrangements by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Howard Lake,
