The Maple Lake girls basketball team defeated St. John’s Prep, Tuesday, Feb. 14, on the road, then fell to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Thursday, Feb. 16, at home.
Despite the loss of statistical leader Linsey Rachel, and shooting woes, the Irish managed to down the Johnnies 47-25 with the help of some full-court pressure.
It was a slow start to the non-conference, non-section showdown on both ends of the floor for the Irish. Maple Lake trailed two different times in the first half, 2-6, and again at 7-11 against the 0-13 Johnnies.
