Donald Joseph Loch, 79, entered into eternal life on May 6, 2017, and is now embraced in the arms of his beloved Lord and Savior. Don was born in Maple Lake, MN to Joseph and Helen (Wurm) Loch. He attended Maple Lake High School followed by Dunwoody Institute. He worked for Control Data Corporation, ADC Telelcommunications and Epiphany Catholic Schools. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church for 49 years. Don and his true love, Marion, were united in marriage on June 25, 1966. In 1968 they built a home in Coon Rapids. It’s there they raised three daughters, created many priceless memories and also where Don took his last breaths.
He was creatively gifted in writing clever notes and letters and also rather skilled in his workshop. He lived his faithful Christian life in a somewhat meticulous manner, enjoying a variety of hobbies and activities… some of which were golfing, fishing, bowling, traveling the world through the History Channel and nature documentaries, watching Twins and Vikings games, attending events of his treasured grandchildren, relaxing on the deck with Marion, watching the birds and the wondrous clouds, and the challenges of many crosswords and puzzles. If you find yourself spontaneously picking up a small speck off the floor, randomly mesmerized by some feathered friends or having some good luck with your crosswords and puzzles, then know that Don’s spirit is right there with you. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen Loch; granddaughter, Abigail Schmiesing; sister, Monica Thompson; brother, Ron Loch; and half-brothers, Adrian, Alfred, and Wally Loch.
Carrying on Don’s spirit and cherishing many fond memories are his: beloved wife, Marion; daughters, DeAnn (Tim) Schmiesing, Sue (Greg) Neumann, and Lyn (John) Pego; grandchildren, Jesse, John Paul and Kaycee Neumann, Frank, Kate, Dana and Jack Schmiesing, and Mia Pego; brother, Gene (Steph) Loch; brothers and sisters in-law, Al and Jackie Streich, Reuben and Joan Streich, Dorothy Loch, Marvin Streich and Renee Lanz, Don and Von Streich, and Janet and Ed Swingley, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial was Friday May 12, 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Epiphany Catholic Church, 11001 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids. Interment St. Timothy’s Cemetery, Maple Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials welcome to the family.
