The Monticello boys hockey team boosted its record to 7-1 after two more wins last week, including a Mississippi 8 Conference victory over Rogers. The Moose kicked off the week on Tuesday, Dec. 19, with a big 9-0 win over Becker-Big Lake at home. Monticello got off to a strong start early in the first period with a goal by Luke Frucci and an assist by Maple Lake senior Devon Lyons and never looked back. The Moose scored three more goals in the first period, two in the second and three in the third without letting the Eagles onto the scoreboard. Collin Soderholm stopped all nine shots made on the Monticello goal.
