Patrick J. Paumen, Baxter

Patrick Jerome Paumen, age 70, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Baxter, MN, died on January 15, 2018 while out for a walk near his son’s home in Kershaw, South Carolina. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Father John Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral chapel.

Patrick J. Paumen was born October 8, 1947 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Jerome and Anne (McAlpine) Paumen. He was raised in Maple Lake, Minnesota along with five sisters and four brothers. Pat graduated from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1965. He serviced his country in the U.S. Navy. On November 8, 1969, Pat was united in marriage to Sandra Paumen at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale, Minnesota; they were blessed with two children. They moved to Baxter where Pat worked as a manager at Clow Stamping and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Pat was a funny, honest, loving, and competitive man who had a commanding presence. He loved the game of golf and was a member of numerous golf clubs in both Minnesota and South Carolina. Pat’s family is his legacy; he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his wife, sons, and grandson. He is survived by his wife Sandra; son Todd Gunnerson of Kershaw, SC; grandson Gunner; brothers and sisters Daniel (Bonnie) of Maple Lake, Stephen (Sharon) of Nevis, Celia (John) Knoll of Dassel, Elizabeth (Michael) Niehaus of Lake Elmo, Ruth (Timothy) Borell of Maple Lake, Paul (Toni) of Maple Lake, Margaret (John) Nemec of Elk River, and Catherine (Dave) Hoadley of Buffalo; sister-in-law Lanette (Jim) Dammann of Plato; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pat is preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Anne; son Shawn; and brother Martin. The casket bearers will be Todd Gunnerson, John Nemec III, Seth Paumen, Joseph Paumen, Renee Abraham, Kimberly Wyeth, Eric Paumen, and Keith Nemec. Pat’s grandson, Gunner, will serve as an honorary casket bearer. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service.
