ROSEMARY THERESE MATTSON, of Buffalo (formerly of rural Waverly)
Rosemary Therese Mattson, age 74, of Buffalo and formerly of rural Waverly, (Marysville Township) passed away on Friday, December 30th, 2016, at Park View Care Center.
She was born on December 3, 1942, in Maple Lake, the daughter of Raymond and Viola (Jansen) Wurm.
On February 17, 1962, Rosemary Wurm and David Mattson were joined in holy marriage at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Rosemary was employed for over 40 years at The Wright County Journal Press as a typesetter.
She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, reading, crocheting and was especially fond of her children and grandchildren.
Rosemary was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo.
Survived by her loving husband of 54 years: David; children: Therese "Terri" Mengelkoch, Michelle “Shelli” Mattson and Brandon (Jody) Mattson; five grandchildren: Amanda (Ben) Westlund, Dereck Mengelkoch, Maizie Mattson, Brett Mattson and Libbee Mattson; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas Westlund and Noah Westlund; sisters: Carol (Herman) Fasching and Lynnea (Stan) Stay; brothers: Ronald Wurm and David Wurm; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sharon Winter, and by an infant brother, John Wurm.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosemary Mattson will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Father Nathaniel Meyers will be the Celebrant.
Private interment at Swedesburg Cemetery in Marysville Township.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6th, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Further visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7th, one hour prior to Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for Park View Care Center.
