Hoopsters win awards


The Maple Lake boys basketball team celebrated its season at an awards banquet, Monday, April 3, at Maple Lake High School. Several awards were given out. Coach Tim Staloch also announced that the basketball team will move from Section 5AA this year to Section 6AA next year. Section 6AA is home to Annandale, St. Cloud Cathedral and Melrose. Above, front row, from left, Mike Miller earned Academic All-Conference honors which means he had a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher; Aiden Staloch earned Academic All-Conference honors; Brock Goelz earned Academic All-Conference honors; and Mitch Hoistad earned Academic All-Conference honors, was voted Offensive Player of the Year by his teammates and made First Team All-Conference.
