Track teams are competitive, hungry


Thirteen seniors will lead the Irish boys and girls track and field teams this season. The boys and girls track teams are up and running and eager for another shot at State True Team.
Last season was the first in several years that neither team advanced. For coaches, getting there again is the ultimate team goal.
The boys return with a “nice” mix of older and younger athletes, including a group of seventh and eighth graders who are “very dedicated and may have an impact,” head coach Ben Youngs said.
