The Irish baseball team gained three more wins last week to boost its record to 16-2 for the season.
On Wednesday, May 10, the Irish hosted Rockford and snuck by with a narrow 5-4 win. On Thursday, May 11, Maple Lake defeated Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 3-0 and 7-4 in a double-header.
The Irish were tied 4-4 with the Rockets in the bottom of the seventh inning and up to bat when an error opened the way to the game-winning run.
Rockford claimed the lead early in the game, scoring in the top of the first inning, and held onto it until the Irish tied it up with a run of its own in the bottom of the fourth.
