The Irish will send a record five athletes to the Minnesota State High School League Track and Field meet this week after top performances at sections.
Aaron Reese, Tyler Cranston, Catie Fobbe, Brynn Paumen and Maggie Larson will compete at Hamline University in St. Paul, Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10, after placing among the top two in their events at the Section 5A meet at St. John’s University on Thursday, June 1.
Reese qualified by winning the 110-meter hurdles. He was the lone Irish champion for the day.
First place didn’t come easily for the senior who is still fighting a nagging injury, coach Ben Youngs said.
