Story Time is half pirate, half princess

The McHugh building was filled with a mixture of “ta da” and “arrrgh” as little princesses and pirates came to Story Time with Marie dressed up and bringing toys to share for their “Make Believe - Princess and Pirate story time!” Even Marie dressed up, but couldn’t decide which character to be so came as a “princess pirate!” Sixteen children and eight adults enjoyed a story about each character. They sang silly songs about pirates and princesses. Then they chose a paper doll to color and either a pirate hat or princess crown to decorate and wear for a group picture. The princesses that came were Rylie Barker, Avery Hackenmueller, Laikyn Ecklund, Kate Peterson, Madeleine Lang, Maggy Crowe, Eve Lang and Lauren Peterson posing with Princess Marie. The pirates were Captain Marie, Dominic Lang, Gunnar Melgaard, TJ Barker, Caleb Pack, Anthony Crowe, Reed Hackenmueller, Liam Ecklund, and Elijah Carriveau. Just a reminder that next Monday will be the annual SUMMER LIBRARY STORYTIME 4TH OF JULY PARADE! The children in Marie’s story time and Lisa’s Books with Boone are asked to wear red, white and blue. Both groups will meet at the McHugh Building at 9:30 a.m. We will be making patriotic visors to wear for the parade around Birch Ave. at 10:15. This is a fun way to kick off the holiday and we would love to have people come to watch us. A parade is always more fun if there is cheering and clapping along the sidewalk. We start at the McHugh building, go down to the post office, across to the library, back up to Division, across and back to the McHugh building. Please come out and help us celebrate the birthday of our country. Story Time with Marie is provided by the Maple Lake Library and held every Monday through July 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the McHugh building (next to the bakery). There is no registration necessary but children must be accompanied by an adult. Come and join the fun! (Photo submitted)
