Lillian Sukut of Maple Lake, an active volunteer and friend to all, was named this year's Outstanding Senior Citizen at the Wright County Fair recently.
Sukut, who lives at the Maple Manor, was not able to accept the award in person, so Connie Lahr, also of Maple Lake, did the honors for her.
"I know Lil as a faithful volunteer arriving at 8 a.m. every Monday morning to tie quilts with the S.A.M. Quilters," Lahr said. "She is a 'shining light' to each of us with her smiling face, kind words, and helpful hints to make every quilt beautiful. Because of her health, Lil is obliged to carry a little oxygen tank, but this does not stop her healthy, positive outlook on life."
