Motorcycle crash critically injures Larry Paumen

Wright County Sheriff Gary L. Miller reports that on April 10, at 10:16 p.m., the Wright County Communications Center received a report of a motorcycle accident at Co. Rd. #8 NW, near Co. Rd. #106 in Maple Lake Township.

Lawrence Joseph Paumen , age 44, from Annandale, was traveling northbound on Co. Rd. #8 when he left the roadway just north of Co. Rd. #106 and rolled his 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Paumen was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital by helicopter, and as of Tuesday, remains in critical condition.

Paumen and his wife, Joyce, are the former owners of A-Meat Shoppe in Maple Lake.

Maple Lake Ambulance and Rescue and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Dassel man killed in one-car crash  Wright County Sheriff Gary L. Miller reports that on April 10, at 4:02 p.m., a report was received of a one vehicle accident at the 17700 block of 60th Street SW in Stockholm Township. The accident claimed the life of Kevin Charles Hansen, a 17-year-old resident of Dassel.   The initial investigation indicates that Hansen had just crested a hill while traveling eastbound on 60th Street SW in Stockholm Township and came upon on a farm tractor pulling a manure spreader traveling in the same direction. Hansen appeared to have made an evasive maneuver, causing his 2000 Chevrolet Malibu to leave the roadway and enter the north ditch where it rolled and eventually struck a power pole. Hansen was not wearing a seatbelt.  Cokato Fire and Rescue and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
