Ethel E. Fobbe, age 101, of Maple Lake died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and from 9-10 a.m. Friday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. Parish Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Ethel Elizabeth Fobbe was born May 12, 1915 in Maple Lake to Thomas and Anne (Wurm) Smith. Ethel grew up and lived her entire life in Maple Lake. On October 10, 1939 she was united in marriage to Roy Francis Fobbe in Maple Lake. Ethel was the 2015 Maple Lake St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal. She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women and the Maple Lake V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 7664. Ethel loved to be with her family. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and they enjoyed eating it.
She is survived by her children Mary Worden of South Haven, Marge (Ted, Jr.) Latour, Patty (Don) Purcell, Robert (Michele) Fobbe, Barb (Mark) Menth and Lori (Bob) Bruns all of Maple Lake; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin daughters; son-in-law Lee Worden; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters.
The casket bearers will be Bill Purcell, Joe Menth, Joe Latour, Bobby Fobbe, Luke Fobbe and Mike Worden. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
