The Maple Lake girls basketball team is 8-6 overall and 4-3 in Central Minnesota Conference play after three games last week.
On Monday, Jan. 23, the Irish came up one point short in a 49-48 road loss to Milaca. Maple Lake players were out of town again, Tuesday, Jan. 24, to battle Pierz. The Irish defeated the Pioneers 43-40. Maple Lake ended the week at home on Friday, Jan. 27, with a 45-40 win over Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.
Monday’s contest featured the non-section, non-conference Wolves. The Irish jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the game, “showing great energy and focus on a day when there was no school and the first of two long road trips,” coach Adam Ronnenberg said.
