Lakers edge Irish in boys basketball action

The Maple Lake boys basketball team narrowly lost a hard-fought match-up against the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers while on the road, Friday, Feb. 24.
The Irish got off to a strong start, leading by as much as 11 points against the Central Minnesota Conference foe. The Lakers started to close the gap, tying the game 18-18 with about six minutes left in the half.
By the break, HL-W-W had pulled ahead by nine points, 35-26.
