Gerald “Jerry” T. Glunz, Buffalo

Gerald “Jerry” T. Glunz, age 57, of Buffalo, passed away on May 24, 2017, at North Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jerry was born the son of Jerome and Kathleen (Zinken) Glunz on June 8, 1959, in Buffalo.
He attended school in Buffalo “whenever he wasn’t needed at home,” as Jerry put it. At the age of 18 he began working at Liberty Carton Company and worked there for 38 years, retiring as the shipping lead man.
Jerry was united in marriage to Debra (Puncochar) in Annandale on April 25, 1987. God blessed their marriage with two children that were his pride and joy.
Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and entertaining family and friends. He was especially proud of his Ford truck and kept it meticulous at all times.
Jerry is survived by loving wife, Debra; children, Matthew Glunz (fiancé, Samantha Wolbeck) and Michaela Glunz (significant other, Tyler Ring); special friends, Ken and Lisa Evavold; siblings, Bonnie (Hal) Berger, Margie Peterson, Sandy (Chuck) Davidson, Debbie (Al) Huikko, Bobby (Barb) Glunz, Jim (Cindy) Glunz, Fred Glunz, John (Kim) Glunz, and Dana (Rick) Meyer; mother-in-law, Kathleen Dvorak; brothers-in-law; faithful companion, Max; furry grandbabies, Willow and Brooke; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by parents, Jerome and Kathleen Glunz; infant sister, Monica Gail Glunz; father-in-law, Louis “Bud” Puncochar; step father-in-law, Joseph Dvorak; and brother-in-law, Edwin Peterson.
Memorial services for Jerry were held Tuesday, May 30th. Visitation began at 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Officiating was Pastor Marc Nagel. Private family interment to be held at a later date.
