The first day of Sunday liquor sales was a success for Maple Lake Wine and Spirits, attracting a line of eager patrons before the store opened at 11 a.m., Sunday, July 2.
“We had customers pull up at 10:30 and wait in their cars until 10:50 until I opened the doors,” Angela Berthiaume, manager of municipal liquor store said. “We had about 20 people waiting in the store until we hit 11 a.m.”
Fifty customers visited within the first 30 minutes Sunday. Throughout the day, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the liquor store closed, a total of 264 customers passed through the doors.
