Storytime with Marie was treated to a special treat this week. We had a guest reader. Bob Zimmerman brought a book that he wrote and illustrated with his own photographs. The book was A Frog in my Throat. Bob told the children how he got the idea for the book, and how he had his grandchildren help with the pictures and the rhyming words. The storytime chlldren really enjoyed the book and also sharing the “pretend frogs” they brought from home. After Bob read to us, he agreed to be part of the group picture with all the frogs and then went to share his book with the Books with Boone children. The children enjoyed acting out the story song book “Five Little Speckled Frogs” with Marie’s frog puppets. Then they made a picture of one of their ways of traveling from this summer’s main theme. This time they used a car or truck. Posing with Bob while holding their or Bob’s frogs are front row: Liam Ecklund, Caleb Pack, Tyler Davidson, Reed Hackenmueller. Back row: Gunnar Melgaard, Kate Peterson, Lauren Peterson, Bob Zimmerman, Avery Hackenmueller, Aliyah Davidson, Tyler Reinke.
