Officials are estimating Saturday’s, Aug. 19, 7th annual Gear-Head Get Together was the biggest yet, drawing thousands of people to Maple Lake where an assortment of collectables, oddities and mechanical masterpieces stretched all the way to Fourth Street.
Shiny cars and rusty re-models still in the works, motorcycles of all eras and intriguing odds and ends lined Birch Avenue from the Old Creamery southward, spilling into side streets wherever they were able.
Although numbers were not totaled as of press time, Scott Chantland, one of the event’s organizers, estimated about 700 vehicles and 100 motorcycles were entered.
