The Maple Lake Lakers kept their season going last Friday night with a win over the St. Joseph Joes in the first game of the State Amateur Baseball Tournament.
The win sets up a tilt against the Jordan Brewers, a team ranked 7th in Class C in the most recent poll. That game will be played on Saturday, August 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Green Isle.
The win was also part of a sweep by the North Star League, as Howard Lake shut out perennial power St. Martin 4-0 and Buffalo rallied late to 10-run Crookston 15-1. They will play the Sartell Muskies and Fairmont Martins, respectively, while Hutchinson will face the St. Peter Saints.
