There is a feeling of excitement at Maple Lake schools as staff prepare for the start of a new year, Tuesday, Sept. 5.
All week teachers have been gearing up for the big day by getting their classrooms in order, attending workshops and preparing lesson plans.
Adding to the excitement is the recent news that Maple Lake students have once again performed well on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments.
The results, which came out earlier this summer, showed Maple Lake scores above state average in all categories; reading, math and science.
“We’ve been pretty strong in most if not all grade levels,” said Maple Lake Elementary Principal Andy Sawatzke.
