School Extra: Read All About It

Business class pays dividends
Mary Miller and Maggie Larson credit the eighth grade business class taught by Maple Lake High School instructor Donna Wurm for some of the success of their M’n’M Market. Writing their resumes helped clarify goals. Learning about how to interact with customers is good for any business operator and money management skills are a requirement when dealing with the bottom line. I did not ask what grades they received for the class, but my bet would be they both aced the course. They will be sophomores this fall and this is their second year having a booth at the Farmers Market. They are enjoying the experience, except for those prickly cucumbers with vines that go all over. Sweet peas are easier to grow and lots easier to pick. They really appreciate all the help they get from market coordinator John Northenscold as well as the support from their parents and siblings.
