There are different stories as to how the Monsen siblings from Carver County got their musical start. In one, the five siblings were so inspired by their father’s collection of antique instruments they taught themselves how to play them and eventually started the Carver Creek Band.
In another, the siblings were said to have started singing to alleviate the boredom of washing dishes.
Both are true, said Sherry Zeisel, the oldest of the five. Zeisel, who is married to Andrew, Faith Formation director at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake, will perform with her two sisters and two brothers at the St. Timothy Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 24.
