Football falls hard to Pierz at home

Maple Lake struggled against the undefeated Pierz, Friday, Sept. 15, ultimately falling 34-7 Parent’s Night.
Mistakes plagued the Irish throughout all four quarters. Alex Toedter had the only touchdown of the night when he scored in the second quarter on a one-yard run. Andy Mavencamp’s kick was good to give the Irish their seven, but they didn’t see the end zone again.
Pierz struck first in the first quarter to make the score 7-0. Two more touchdowns in the second boosted their lead to 14-7. The third quarter remained scoreless, but Pierz capped off the night with two more touchdowns in the fourth.
