Library wins “Sisters in Crime” grant

The Maple Lake Library was chosen by the national organization of Sisters In Crime as the July 2017 “We Love Libraries” grant winner.
The grant, in the amount of $1,000, will be used to purchase books (not restricted to the mystery genre nor to those by Sisters in Crime members). 
Representatives will present the check on Saturday, October 28, at the Maple Lake American Legion Club from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will feature a panel of local authors, including Midge Bubany, Jessie Chandler, Pat Dennis, Erin Hart, and Christine Husom.
The event is free and open to the public. Authors will sell their books at the event and Clover Meadow Bakery, of Maple Lake, will provide treats.
