Irish swimmer performs well at two meets


Maple Lake freshman Trinity Geyen competed in two meets last week as a member of the Buffalo varsity and junior varsity swim teams.
On Thursday, Sept. 28, she placed first in the JV 200 individual medley with a time of 2:43:59 and was second in the JV 100 freestyle with a time of 1:05:44. She also competed in varsity events, but results were not available.
On Saturday, Sept. 30, Geyen traveled with the Bison to Circle Pines for Centennial High School’s Tuna Meet. The Bison were among seven teams present for students in 7th through 9th grades. Geyen’s 200 medley relay team finished sixth overall. Geyen completed the freestyle portion of the relay with a split time of 25.50 and a final time of 2:10:91. Other members of the relay team were Kaylie Carik, Marna Hanson and Ellie Carik, of Buffalo.
