More than 6 million young people across the country will celebrate National 4-H Week Saturday, Oct. 3 through Friday, Oct. 9.
During this annual event, 4-H programs across the country will showcase opportunities that 4-H offers young people, and highlight their work to make a positive impact on the community. In Wright County, 4-H clubs have been busy.
The MN 4-H State Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational was held in Alexandria on September 8-10. Over 900 youth from across Minnesota participated in events such as: BB gun, Standard Air Rifle, 3 Position Air Rifle, Air Pistol, .22 Rifle, Muzzleloading, Trap, Silhouette, Wildlife Calling, Skillathon and Conservation/Wildlife Displays throughout the weekend. Youth had the opportunity to showcase their skills that have been learned throughout the past year, as they spent 15 or more hours working with a trained instructor in their discipline of interest.
