By Brenda Erdahl, Sports Editor. The Alpine Ski team had a “great” night, Thursday, Jan. 18, at Powder Ridge. The girls team won, and the boys all had great runs, coach Eli Dean said. The team’s one Maple Lake athlete, Emma Spike, finished second in the JV race. “This is exceptionally great coming off of the tough race at Giants Ridge which was made all the more difficult because of the cold temps well below -15 to start the race on Saturday,” he said. “I’m really proud of how well all the kids skied last night and how well it represents the progress so many of them have made this season.” The Alpine Ski Coop is made up of Annandale, Kimball, Litchfield, Maple Lake, New London-Spicer, and St. Michael-Albertville high schools. The coop will compete again on Friday, Jan. 26, at Afton Alps and Tuesday, Jan. 30.
