The Irish Mentors program and Maple Lake schools hosted its annual blood drive on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Students and community members were invited to make a difference in the lives of those in need of help. Donations have been low this year, so the group’s goal was to bring those numbers up with an additional 54 to 61 units. They collected a total of 60 units. Second-time donor Maddi Maas makes her donation while and Ava Mergen offers support. “It doesn’t hurt that bad” and “helping someone is good,” Maas said.
