Irish Talk-the-Talk at two Speech Meets

The Maple Lake speech team has had a strong stretch of competition. On Saturday, Feb. 17 they finished third at the Norwood Young America Tournament. Placing for Maple Lake were: Anna Becker, Honorable Mention, Creative Expression; Caleb Hagen, Honorable Mention, Discussion; Clara Greenhagen, fourth, Extemporaneous Reading; Josie Wagner, fifth, Extemporaneous Reading; Lucy Greenhagen, first, Extemporaneous Speaking; Michael Miller, secnd, Extemporaneous Speaking; Jacob Fynboh, fourth, Extemporaneous Speaking and Mary Miller, sixth, Great Speeches.

On Saturday, Feb. 24, the Irish hosted its annual meet. Placing for Maple Lake were: Becker, secnd, Creative Expression; Hagen, seventh, Discussion; Kianna Johnson, fifth, Serious Drama; Emma Payne and Maya Benson, fifth, Duo Interpretation; Emily Miller and Katie Goelz, eigth, Duo Interpretation; Greenhagen, fourth, Extemporaneous Speaking; Fynboh, fifth, Extemporaneous Speaking; Michael Miller, sixth, Extemporaneous Speaking; Emily Miller, fourth, Great Speeches; Madeline Gindele, seventh, Great Speeches; Josie Wagner, fourth, Extemporaneous Reading; Valerie Loch, seventh, Informative; Alayna Jude, fifth, Original Oratory; Calli Hadler, seventh, Original Oratory. The team, which took first, set a team point record of 311 points.
