At 10:24 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 Wright County deputies responded to this single vehicle rollover on County Road 8, Northwest near the intersection with County Road 39 in Silver Creek Township at 10:24 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 1. A 2008 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling North on County Road 8 when the driver stated he hit a patch of black ice and lost control of his truck, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Department. The truck crossed the southbound lane and entered the west ditch of County Road 8. The truck struck a mailbox and rolled over, coming to rest on the passenger side. A passerby witnessed the crashed and stopped to assist while also calling 911. The occupants of the truck told the passerby they were unhurt, but were unable to get out of the vehicle. The occupants were eventually able to exit the vehicle through the removed windshield, but the reports do not indicate who removed the windshield. Both the driver and passenger were transported to Buffalo Hospital as a precautionary measure. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
