St. Cloud State University Head Football Coach Scott Underwood and his staff announced the commitments of 27 high school athletes and two transfers to the Huskies program, Wednesday, Feb. 7, the first day for Division II signing. The incoming class includes athletes from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Iowa.

Alex Toedter, a senior at Maple Lake High School, signed with the school on Wednesday afternoon. The son of Jon and Karla, Toedter is a 6-foot, 3-inch, 235- pound outside linebacker. He was named the Mid-District Red Division Linebacker of the Year, was a First Team All-Conference selection, earned All Section honors, was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, and served as a team captain in 2017. He will be majoring in marketing at SCSU.

“We are excited to have this group join us in bringing a wealth of athletic talent and academic prowess to our program,” said Coach Underwood, who is entering his 11th season in charge of the program. St. Cloud State (6-5, 3-4 NSIC North in 2017) will open its 2018 season at home at Husky Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 30, against the University of Mary at 6 p.m. The team will have five home, and six away games this season.
